Flat pack furniture is straightforward right up to the point where one cam lock is turned the wrong way and the whole panel has to come apart. Assembly is slower when someone has to guess, and faster when they have built the same thing forty times.

Every job is quoted at a fixed price before work starts, so there is no hourly rate and no meter running. Labour only. Materials and fittings are quoted separately and approved by you before anything is bought.

Times are on site, not including travel, and they are a guide rather than a promise: a job that reveals something once it is open takes longer, and you hear about it before it carries on. Every job is quoted at a fixed price before work starts, so adding to the list changes the quote rather than running up a meter.

Where the line is
If a panel arrives cracked or a fitting is missing from the box, assembly stops and you take it up with the supplier. I will tell you exactly which part is at fault and photograph it so the return is easy.
Furniture assembly questions
Do you assemble furniture I bought online and had delivered?
Yes, that is most of this work. Have the boxes on site and the instructions if they came with them. Missing fittings are the most common delay, so it is worth opening the boxes before I arrive.
Can you anchor a wardrobe or bookcase to the wall?
Yes, and for tall units it is worth doing rather than optional. In a house with children or in an area that gets tremors, an unanchored two metre unit is a genuine hazard. It takes a few minutes.
How long does a flat pack wardrobe take?
Most two door wardrobes take between an hour and a half and two hours. Larger sliding door units run longer. Send me the model or a photo of the box and I will give you a proper estimate.
Will you take the packaging away?
If you want. Say so when you book, because it affects how much space I need in the vehicle. Most people keep the boxes for a week in case something needs to go back.
